• Name: Kevin P. Thom F.R.I., R.I.(B.C.) Position: Executive Director Description: Kevin P. Thom is currently the Executive Director of the Strata Property Agents of B.C. (SPABC) a position he has held since May 2006. Mr. Thom has been involved in the property management industry since 1977 and has had specific strata management experience since 1979 being the President of several property management companies throughout the greater Vancouver area. Mr. Thom is a graduate of BCIT. in Administrative Management , of UBC. with a Diploma of Real Estate and is a licensed Managing Broker. He is a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Canada (FRI) and a Professional Member of the Real Estate Institute of B.C. ( R.I.B.C.) Mr. Thom also serves on several committees providing input on behalf of the property management industry to the Real Estate Council of B.C. and the Provincial Government.

• Name: Rick Dickson Position: Past President Description: Mr. Richard Dickson is President and Managing Broker of Ascent Real Estate Management Corporation located in Burnaby, B.C. Ascent is a full service real estate company providing trading, rental and strata property management services. Mr. Dickson entered the real estate profession in 1979 and has specialized in property management since that time. Mr. Dickson was one of the founding members of SPABC and recently the National Association of Condominium Managers (NACM). He has served on the Rental Housing Council of B.C.(Past Chairman), the Professional Association of Managing Agents (Past President).He has served on numerous committees providing input to the Real Estate Council of B.C. and the Provincial Government on issues relating to the property/strata management industry.

• Name: Chris Sargent Position: Treasurer Description: Chris Sargent is Rancho Management’s General Manager and Managing Broker. Rancho has been in business for over 35 years and currently manages over 10,000 Strata units. Rancho’s office is located in Downtown Vancouver. Born and raised in Vancouver, Chris began his career at Rancho Management in 1983. Mr. Sargent is a Certified General Accountant and is currently serving on the SPABC Board of Directors as the Board’s Treasurer. Chris is also currently active in the newly founded Yaletown Lions Club as a Charter Member.

Barbara has been active in strata management for 25 years and has a graduate diploma from BCIT in Business Administration. Prior to Condex, Barbara was President of Aston Property Management for 10 years and previously worked at Vancouver City Hall in the Planning and Building departments.

Garth Cambrey is President of Stratawest Management Ltd. which specializes in the management of Strata Corporations in the greater Vancouver area currently representing in excess of 100 Strata Properties. Mr. Cambrey has been involved in the real estate industry since 1984 after graduating from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in the Urban Land Economics option. He has been involved in the management of Strata Corporations in British Columbia since 1986 and, since forming Stratawest Management Ltd. in 1992, continues to serve as President and Director of the Company. Mr. Cambrey is an experienced Arbitrator and has been appointed several times by the Supreme Court of British Columbia as an Administrator under the Condominium Act and Strata Property Act of British Columbia.

Institute of Technology; Graduate, Urban Land Economics, University of B.C.; Managing Broker’s License, Strata Management License, Rental Management License and Real Estate Trading License; member of the Real Estate Institute of B.C.; Director, Strata Property Agents of BC. Originally involved in strata property development and management, the organizations focus shifted exclusively to property management in 1984. The company is dedicated almost completely to strata management with the exception of specialized services provided to a branch of the Provincial Government.

• Name: Eric Spurling FRI, R.I.(B.C.) CRF, CPM Position: Director Description: Eric is the President of Proline Management Ltd one of Vancouver Island’s largest strata management firms. Eric Founded the firm in 1985 and has been actively involved in the day to day management of the business ever since. During his property management career Eric has served on the Board of what is now the Rental Owners and Managers Association of B.C., the Rental Housing Council of BC, the Victoria Chapters of the Real Estate Institute of Canada and the Real Estate Institute of BC as well as having served as a Governor of the Real Estate Institute of BC. Eric was one of the first members of SPABC on Vancouver Island and has served on the Board for three years.
